Trying to think warmer thoughts. It's snowing again this morning! Shawn built this Giza model on the beach in South Carolina a couple of years ago. My sister is there right now. Lucky duck!

Ceative take on the traditional sand castle! Happy WW!
OK, this is a bit weird. I took a very similar photo last summer when we were camping at the beach. Someone else had built the pyramids, I just took the photo. I am gonna have to look for the picture, cuz that is a definite co-inkydink.
Fabulous!! - the beautiful serene beach AND the pyramid reproductions!! Also, I enjoyed reading your meme below.
Blessings this week ... Susan
ps. I'm also really liking how you use just a portion of your Pregnant Trees as your header. Such lovely & vibrant colors.
LB, that is so funny. I hope you find the pic. It wasn't in South Carolina was it?
Susan, thanks for the comment about my blog header. In case you're interested, I used Adobe photoshop to crop a piece of a photo of the painting to fit the header.
I painted that picture way back in grad school, but it is still one of my faves. It hangs in my studio. I just love the bold colors. I was pregnant for Julia at the time and everyone in the class commented that the tree on the left looked pregnant, hence the title.
I love it! I went to Egypt back in 1990 and had such a blast. And yep, it was sand everywhere so you pegged it. ;-)
oh! I just read needleroozer.... wouldn’t that be crazy if you were at the same beach at the same time?
Was it Myrtle beach SC? I’ve been their... although its been about 19 years now.... I love the beach, and cant wait till the warmer weather comes...
So sorry you have snow today.... Keep thinking warm thoughts! Winter is almost over!!!
Happy WW~

Beautiful picture! So calm and peaceful, I wish I was there. I'm pretty sick of winter here too, but at least it's not snowing.
Happy WW!
That is a cool picture!
What a fun picture. I'll have to encourage mine to build pyramids this year - as they usually just dig holes and call them sand castles. We'll just head in the other direction this time!
Daisy, I'm so jealous! You actually went to Egypt??!! Wow! Oh, to see the pyramids and to stand in the valley of the kings and see the great sphynx. There are three places I've always wanted to go: Egypt to see the pyramids, Greece to see the ruins, and Scotland to see the castles. I've been many places, but these three still remain!
LOL! We went to the beach one day last year and my ds did an entire multiplication table. It was huge!
Lisa and LB,
The beach is on Seabrook Island, SC, right outside of Charleston. It is a private gated community and the beach is never crowded. Paradise! My sister owns a villa and now a house on the island, so we've been there several times. It is right next to Kiawah Island which is a popular tourist destination.
Pyramids! Fun photo. The shapes of the pyramids are echoed in the sailboat shape as well. Looks warm and fun. Sending warm thoughts your way!
Wow, that's history in action. Those pyramids are so perfect.
No, I have never been to SC, though I hear it is just beautiful there. My ds is on the computer with the photos on it, so I will try to find it when he gets off and will post it either tomorrow or later tonight.
LB
I found the pyramid photo in a draft post. It is up on the blog now.
